We welcome you to bring the Polish flag, dress in Polish national white and red colours and bring any Polish paraphernalia which you may have.

Polish Theatre Ireland is once again bringing contemporary Polish writing to the Irish stage. The play Delta Phase, which is now a very popular text among Polish theatre directors, has been specially translated into English and will be theatrically examined by two Irish directors and performed by both Polish and Irish actors. It is planned to be held in an exciting venue of Theatre Upstairs at Lanigan’s Bar which currently brings an interesting range of new Irish writing to the audiences of Dublin and – by staging Delta Phase – gives Polish Theatre Ireland another opportunity to add their own Polish-Irish voice to the Irish repertoire.
Delta Phase tells a tragicomic story of three boys who – while living life on the edge – trigger a series of tragic consequences that change those same lives forever. Powered by alcohol and drugs – the three seek to reach a drug-fuelled synergy that they call Delta Phase. Their lack of goal and sense in life lead them to be against, to resist and to destroy, without any particular reason but for fun and the simple joy of doing it.“A Polish play in English set in Ireland? It’s not a problem. Everybody will recognise the characters of Delta Phase. There’s plenty of darkness and confusion in the text which will be exciting to play with. The audience will be taken into a different theatrical world of laughs and shocks and I am really delighted to be working again with Polish theatre in Dublin.” – says John Currivan, Codirector of the play.
The play will be staged in English for the first time and the author Radosław Paczocha is going to pay Dublin a visit to review his text in a new linguistic and theatrical dimension. On this occasion Polish Theatre Ireland is holding an open Q&A discussion with the writer after the show on the 24th November 2012, which will be held by Gavin Kostick of Fishamble Theatre. The production of Delta Phase is proudly supported by Polish Embassy in Dublin and Adam Mickiewicz Institute in Warsaw.

This is a generation that wants their early adulthood to never end- people with the body of an adult but the mind of a child. They want to be entertained and have fun. 50% Male Experimental Theatre is comprised of three female and three male performers and this, their debut show, tells its story through the universal body language of physical theatre. The 6-strong cast all have wildly different back-stories, complimentary skills and a tendency to crack up at tender, ‘sensitive’ moments. The group is a multicultural art project and they are from Poland, Ireland and, Uzbekistan. They are dancers and stilt-walkers, office workers and visual artists, jokers and choreographers. The group first got together in February 2009 and, discovering an amazing chemistry, decided to create a universal tale about their generation.
