A concert of songs of Adam Mickiewicz with visual narration

The great Polish Romantic, Adam Mickiewicz, is regarded as an embodiment of the national
culture as well as one of Europe’s major poets. The concert is based on several of his poems translated into English by Anita Debska Jones.
Rita Schaeper set the poems to music and sings them.
Rita’s songs and Ida Baj’s visual narration will lead you into the world of Mickiewicz, giving you a glimpse into his life and times and a taste of his timeless poetry.
The show will tour to Belfast and Cork

RITA MARI SCHAEPER
is a German artist and musician who lives
and works in Poland, in the Izery Mountains
near Jelenia Gora. Graduate of Art Academy
in Berlin, an illustrator and a songwriter,
Rita combines visual, performing and
language arts to express her creative ideas.

IDA BAJ
is a Polish teacher of English and a teacher
trainer who lives in Jelenia Gora at the foot
of the Karkonosze Mountains. She uses songs,
poems ,storytelling, drama and circle dances
in her teaching.
