Nasc, The Irish Immigrant Support Centre invites applicants for the position of
Part Time Project Coordinator – (30 hours per week)
This post is funded by the European Integration Fund and is administered through Pobal

Applicants should have at least 2 years experience in similar position and demonstrate an ability to work in dynamic multicultural environment. The position is on a two year contract basis subject to renewed funding after year 1.

The person will be responsible for the following duties:

* Coordinating three projects under the Cork City Integration programme- Integration of 3rd Country Nationals: The projects are:

1. The Interreligious Dialogue Project – promoting Muslim Christian Dialogue
2. Training Programme for 3rd Country Women
3. Arts/ Integration Participation Project for 3rd Country Women

* Liaising with the three organisations involved in this programme: Nasc Irish Immigrant Support Centre, Mayfield Community Arts , Cork Midsummer Fest. & Cois Tine.

– To play a key role in the development and implementation of all projects and carrying out the objectives to ensure stated projects outputs and monitoring requirements are met.
– Assisting third country national women to prepare and take an active role in Irish life, overcome language barriers and build relationships
– Assist in the promotion of dialogue and interaction between Muslims and the non-Muslim Irish community within the aim and objectives of the project.
Helping to create network opportunities for third country national women with organizations and individuals in the Irish community
Engaging women in activities that facilitate integration into the life of the community
To use participative processes to build language, communication and advocacy skills.
To give voice to the needs, concerns and talents of third country national women

* Assisting the project manager/facilitator in carrying out actions regarding the implementing training courses, seminars and arts projects in conjunction with the programme partners and in line with the project objectives
* Assisting with carrying out relevant research to support training programmes, seminars and arts projects
* Assisting in outreach PR and recruitment of participants for training
* Raising awareness of the projects with the target group- outreaching to new communities and members and encouraging participation in project work
* Ensuring that all projects are working within the guidelines and timescales as set out and agreed by the EIF fund
* Linking with other organisations and networks and the general public to promote the project and to offer training, seminars and workshops to groups.
* The post holder will report to the Project monitoring committee by organising meetings, taking and distributing minutes, keeping records of attendance and following up with partners to ensure that agreed and required actions are implemented.
* Working in conjunction with the key statutory agencies and service providers to promote mainstreaming actions under the three project lines.

Salary: €22,000
